Alloovium, a five-person startup in Y Combinator's Summer 2026 batch, has launched an AI document layer for construction that reads contracts, specifications and drawings and returns answers cited to the exact clause. In its July 13, 2026 YC Launch post, the company said it was deploying across $400 million in active projects, a self-reported figure that has not been independently verified.
Builders run on paperwork scattered through SharePoint folders, email threads and requests for information, or RFIs. Alloovium's pitch is that an AI tool earns trust only if it can point back to where an answer came from.
What the product does
On its Y Combinator profile, Alloovium calls itself "the company brain for construction companies." Its About page goes further, describing "the intelligence layer for the built world" and promising that "every answer links back to the exact drawing, page or clause it came from."
According to the company's documentation, the core product answers questions over project files: contracts, specs, drawings, emails and RFIs. A separate "conflict scan" compares those documents against one another and surfaces contradictions, each with a citation. A demo on the product page drafts an RFI directly from a flagged conflict.
For builders that maintain a formal management system, the company said it runs "continual compliance sweeps" against the builder's Integrated Management System, or IMS. In its July 13 YC Launch post, Alloovium said the first end-to-end sweep produced 39 cited findings on a single project. Anything the AI drafts requires human approval, the company said.
Running site operations by phone
The company also markets voice-based site operations. A user calls an AI "project line," and Alloovium prepares site update forms, checks requirements against project documents and drafts follow-up messages for approval. The site pairs this with a workflow builder and a "requirement checks" interface.
