BioGeometry, the Beijing AI protein-design startup founded by Jian Tang, an associate professor at HEC Montréal and a core academic member at Mila, has closed a Series A+ round led by China Life Capital, bringing its combined Series A funding above $100 million, according to coverage of the company's Oct. 28 announcement.
Neither the company nor its investors disclosed the size of the A+ tranche or the startup's valuation, Peptide & Protein reported. Outlets including 36Kr, Sina Finance and Dealroom News each put the cumulative Series A total at more than $100 million.
A Mix of Institutional and Existing Backers
Besides China Life Capital, the round drew Shanghai Biomedical Fund, CDB Kechuang, Ruili Investment and Guofang Capital. 36Kr also cited "leading biopharma industry parties," without naming them. Fortune Capital (Dachen), an existing investor, put in more money, and Index Capital again acted as exclusive financial advisor.
"We are very pleased to lead the Series A+ financing of BioGeometry," China Life Capital said in a statement carried by 36Kr.
Qiushan Guo, a partner at Shanghai Biomedical Fund, told 36Kr that the fund's involvement had been steady: "From joint lead in the first round to continued investment this round, our judgment… has been consistently validated."
The Path to This Round
The A+ follows a strategic round announced June 30, 2026, which the company described only as "hundreds of millions of RMB." Shanghai Biomedical Innovation & Translation Fund, CAS Investment, Fortune Capital and Link-X Capital co-led that financing, and Gaorong Capital and the Index AI Industry Innovation Fund took part. Earlier still, on Nov. 1, 2022, the company announced an angel round without naming its investors.
Where the Money Goes

Per 36Kr, Sina Finance, Peptide & Protein and Dealroom News, proceeds will fund further development of two models. GeoFlow is what the company calls an all-atom biomolecular "world model," meaning one that aims to represent proteins and related molecules at the level of individual atoms. GeoCell is a cell-level "virtual cell" model. The startup also plans to expand its automated high-throughput labs and push ahead its in-house drug pipelines. Peptide & Protein reported that several bispecific antibodies, which are engineered to bind two different targets, are slated to reach investigational new drug (IND) filings in 2027.
