Overwatch Data, a Brooklyn-based threat intelligence startup, has raised a $15 million Series A led by Mouro Capital, Fortune reported Monday. Visa Ventures and Capital One Ventures also took part, a notable pairing given that both companies' parent businesses are among the startup's customers.
Those customers, which Fortune said include Stripe and DoorDash, are contending with attackers who use artificial intelligence to scale fraud and cybercrime. Overwatch is betting that defenders can use the same technology to keep pace.
Who put in the money
Fortune first reported the round on Oct. 26 and named Mouro Capital as lead. A day later, Fintech.global added that Visa Ventures and Capital One Ventures joined as strategic investors, meaning backers with a commercial interest in the company's market as well as a financial one. PruVen Capital and New Era Capital Partners reportedly contributed follow-on money. Y Combinator, which funded the company in its S22 batch, was listed as a prior backer.
A Form D that Overwatch filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Oct. 26 puts some numbers on the raise. It shows $14,959,986 sold against a $15,199,984 offering, from eight investors, with the first sale dated July 15, 2026. The filing does not name those investors. No valuation was disclosed in the available sources, and as of Oct. 27 no press release had appeared on its website.
One wrinkle deserves mention. An earlier Form D, filed Feb. 3, 2025, reported $7,379,998 sold to 16 investors, and third-party trackers label that earlier raise a Series A as well. The filing itself carries no stage label, so the naming may simply reflect how different data providers categorize rounds.
What the company sells
Overwatch describes itself as an AI-native threat intelligence and risk operations platform spanning cyber, fraud, brand and merchant risk. According to its website, AI agents and human analysts gather signals from open, social and dark web sources, connect patterns among them and deliver finished intelligence to security teams.
