Amit Lakhani is Co-Founder and CTO at Onyx Bio, an AI-first biorepository building a virtual immune system to accelerate the development of precision medicines through deep multiomics data integrated with real-world evidence.

Amit earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley in 2012, advised by Professor Ming C. Wu, and completed his doctoral dissertation on metal-optic and plasmonic semiconductor-based nanolasers before joining Exponent as an engineering consultant.

Amit co-founded Onyx Bio alongside Roger Chen, driven by the conviction that high-quality longitudinal biological data is the cornerstone of scientific advancement in immunology and precision medicine.

At Onyx Bio, Amit leads the technical development of a multiomics platform that profiles longitudinal immune trajectories, enabling the construction of a virtual immune system with causal properties; the company raised an $8M seed round led by Dimension Capital with participation from Haystack, Refactor Capital, and others.

Onyx Bio has enrolled nearly a thousand members into its studies and grew 50% quarter-over-quarter in 2026, actively partnering with pharma companies on precision immunology programs targeting autoimmune disease.
