Chetan Parthiban is Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at Ultra, a Brooklyn-based AI robotics company building intelligent robots that automate repetitive warehouse tasks such as e-commerce order packing, sorting, and returns processing.
Chetan earned both his BA and MSE in Mathematics and Robotics from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also conducted NLP research on bias and fairness in large language models and served as a Teaching Assistant for machine learning courses.
Chetan was one of Arena's first machine learning scientists, where he applied AI to solve high-frequency enterprise decision-making problems at a hyper-personalized scale, and previously developed active learning techniques at PathAI to improve data collection efficiency for AI-driven pathology.
At Ultra, Chetan leads the AI and scientific strategy behind the company's flagship Operator (OP1) robot, which pairs with Physical Intelligence's foundation models to continuously learn and improve from live warehouse deployments.
Ultra has raised $62M in total funding, including a $50M Series A led by Framework Ventures, and its robots have packed more than 500,000 orders across real customer warehouse floors.
