Dickson Nsofor is the Founder and CEO of Kora, a pan-African payment infrastructure company enabling local and global businesses to accept pay-ins, make payouts, and settle across popular payment channels across Africa.
Born in Jos, Nigeria, Dickson earned a B.Eng. in Information and Communication Engineering from Covenant University and a Master's in International Economics and Business from Nankai University, China, before launching his first venture, Lixon Mobile, a low-cost phone brand for Chinese and African markets.
Inspired by the friction of sending remittances from abroad to Nigeria, Dickson set out to solve Africa's fragmented payments landscape, later completing the Oxford Saïd Business School OAMLP program and participating in Techstars' 2019 cohort.
Under Dickson's leadership, Kora secured a commercial PSSP license from the Central Bank of Nigeria, expanded to the UK via a Birmingham partnership, and launched One Rail, a stablecoin-powered settlement product integrating USDT and USDC into its payment infrastructure.
Since its founding in 2018, Kora has grown to over 250 employees across 15 countries, processes billions of dollars monthly, and operates in more than eight African markets including Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Egypt, Cameroon, and Tanzania.
