Geoff Yang

Geoff Yang is Co-Founder and Partner Emeritus of Redpoint, the venture firm he started in 1999 and where he served as Founding Partner and Managing Director. He also chairs the US Olympic and Paralympic Foundation and sits on the boards of Warner Bros. Discovery and Franklin Templeton.
Geoff earned a BSE from Princeton and an MBA from Stanford GSB, after a stint as a marketing rep at IBM and as an associate at First Century Partners. He then spent 1987 to 1999 as a General Partner at IVP, where he built his focus on consumer media and networking infrastructure.
Geoff is a hands-on company creator as well as an investor, having founded Rock the Bells, Apeiron Life (Performance Health Sciences), and Sake Ono. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he helped establish the Technology & Innovation Fund that supports Team USA athletes.
He led or backed Ask.com, TiVo, MySpace, Juniper Networks, Arista, Calix, Foundry Networks, and Excite from their early days, and later served as a director of AT&T. He currently serves on the boards of Scribd, Esquel Group, Franklin Templeton, and Warner Bros. Discovery.
Redpoint launched in 1999 with a $600M fund, then the largest first-time fund for a new firm, and has since backed companies including Netflix, Snowflake, Stripe, and Twilio. Geoff's early bets in internet media and networking helped define the consumer web and broadband infrastructure eras.
