Hugo Mercier

Hugo Mercier is Co-Founder and CEO at Twin, a Paris-based AI automation platform that uses vision models to autonomously control web browsers and automate repetitive corporate tasks. Twin raised $3 million in pre-seed funding in early 2024 from world-class AI founders and operators.
Hugo studied engineering at Ecole Polytechnique and completed programs in innovation and entrepreneurship at UC Berkeley. He previously founded and led Dreem as CEO, a deeptech neuroscience company that raised $60 million, grew to 150 employees, and successfully exited.
Hugo co-founded Gekko, an algorithmic trading firm, and has invested in and advised over 30 startups as an angel investor and board member. He won multiple innovation awards including the IVY Prize and Grand Prix de l'Innovation de la Ville de Paris.
Twin leverages computer vision to let AI agents observe users performing tasks and autonomously reproduce them later, enabling automation across any web application without API limitations. The company partners with B2B clients like Qonto to deploy AI agents for invoice retrieval and workflow automation.
Under Hugo's leadership, Dreem's technology was used by consumers globally, sent to the ISS to monitor astronauts' sleep, and deployed by pharmaceutical companies for neurodegenerative disease research and sleep centers for diagnosing sleep apnea. Twin is pioneering the next generation of AI-powered business automation with vision-based agents.
