Jascha Achterberg

Jascha Achterberg is Co-Founder of Callosum, a London-based AI infrastructure company building the intelligent systems layer for the heterogeneous era of AI by dynamically routing complex workloads across diverse models and chips.
Jascha earned his PhD at Cambridge in neuroscience, computing, and AI, where he met co-founder Danyal Akarca, and he is a Career Development Research Fellow at St John's College, University of Oxford.
His research, published in Nature journals and conducted in collaboration with Google DeepMind, examines how the brain achieves intelligence through specialised circuits rather than uniform replication, a principle that directly inspires Callosum's architecture.
Prior to Callosum, Jascha held positions at Intel and collaborated with Google DeepMind, bridging cutting-edge neuroscience with real-world AI and hardware systems.
Callosum has raised approximately $110M in total funding, including a landmark $100M seed round led by Atomico, and secured the first-ever direct equity investment from the UK Sovereign AI Fund, with its platform delivering up to 4x lower cost and 7x faster performance than single-chip solutions.
