Joel Nordström

Joel Nordström is the Co-Founder and CEO of Atlar, a Stockholm-based fintech company building an AI-native treasury management and bank payments platform for modern finance teams.
Joel studied Business and Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics and went on to become employee number 12 at Tink, the open banking pioneer acquired by Visa for $2.2 billion, where he spent six years in commercial and business development roles.
At Tink, Joel developed deep expertise in open banking and payments infrastructure, and it was there he met his two co-founders, Johannes Elgh and Joel Wagmark, before departing to build Atlar.
Joel led Atlar to raise a EUR 5M Seed round in 2022 led by Index Ventures, followed by a Series A in 2024, bringing total funding to approximately $13.3M, with backing from General Catalyst, La Famiglia, and prominent fintech angels.
Atlar now serves customers including Acne Studios, GetYourGuide, Parloa, and Bandwidth across Europe and the US, and has expanded to a New York headquarters to meet growing North American demand.
