Joel Wägmark is Co-Founder and CPO (and CFO) at Atlar, a next-generation AI-native treasury management and bank payments platform backed by Index Ventures and headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

Joel holds an MSc and BSc in Finance and Business Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics, and built his payments expertise as PSP and Platform Lead at Tink, the open banking pioneer acquired by Visa for $2.2 billion.

Drawing on his deep background in payments infrastructure, Joel champions the idea that AI agents in finance are bottlenecked not by intelligence but by closed legacy systems lacking data, tools, and accountability layers.

Prior to Atlar, Joel began his career as a Research Analyst in Equities at Infront ASA in 2017 before joining Tink in 2019, where he specialized in payments product until co-founding Atlar in 2022 alongside Joel Nordstrom and Johannes Elgh.

Atlar has raised over $13M in funding, serves leading fintechs such as Tide, Mangopay, and Trustly, and has hosted a CFO AI Summit in Stockholm drawing 200 senior finance leaders to showcase its treasury agent platform.
