Joowon Kim is Co-Founder and CEO of Melius, a New York-based AI agents lab that serves as a shared creative operating system for generating images, video, and audio assets at scale.

Joowon studied Computer Science and Economics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, then built deep engineering expertise at Illumio and Ramp, where he served as a Senior Software Engineer across Bill Pay, Procurement, and Growth.

A lifelong digital media enthusiast who once aspired to be a YouTuber, Joowon channels his passion for short-form video and online storytelling directly into Melius's mission to make professional creative production radically accessible.

At Ramp, Joowon worked alongside co-founders Young Kim and Arnav Ramu, and the trio leveraged that shared trust to found Melius in 2025, boldly scrapping their entire first codebase to pivot toward a far larger creative AI opportunity.

Within two months of emerging from stealth in July 2026, Melius crossed a seven-figure annualized run rate and raised $25M in total funding, with thousands of creative teams now using the platform.
