Kevin Peterson

Kevin Peterson is Co-Founder and CTO at Bedrock Robotics, an autonomous construction technology company transforming the $13 trillion global construction industry. He leads the development of advanced autonomy systems that enable heavy equipment to operate around the clock, addressing critical labor shortages.
Kevin studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and served as Head of Perception for Waymo Via for three years. He also founded Marble Robot in 2016, an autonomous delivery robotics company that raised $10 million and partnered with Yelp Eat24.
Kevin has built perception and control systems for self-driving cars, lunar landers, rovers, and autonomous ships throughout his 20-year career. He previously served as Chief Technical Officer at Astrobotic, developing robotic lunar landers and working on DARPA Grand and Urban Challenge projects.
Bedrock Robotics emerged from stealth in July 2025 with $80 million in combined Seed and Series A funding, followed by a $270 million Series B in February 2026, reaching a $1.75 billion valuation. The company is deploying autonomous excavators across construction sites in Arizona, Texas, and Arkansas.
Bedrock completed the construction industry's largest supervised autonomy deployment for mass excavation on a 130-acre manufacturing site in November 2025. The company is targeting fully operator-less excavator deployments in 2026 and aims to address the shortage of 500,000 construction workers delaying projects by two months on average.
