Luis Ruben Soenksen is Co-Founder and CTO at Nolla Health, a vertically integrated AI-powered skin health platform combining proprietary computer vision with clinician oversight to deliver instant diagnosis, prescriptions, and follow-up care.

A PhD graduate from MIT and MSc holder from Johns Hopkins University's Bioengineering CBID-BME program, Luis spent over a decade as a researcher at MIT and the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard, publishing landmark studies on AI-driven dermatological diagnosis in Nature and Science-affiliated journals.

Luis is a Medtech, Biotech, and AI entrepreneur whose research on deep learning for skin lesion detection has been cited nearly 4,000 times, directly laying the scientific foundation for Nolla Health's proprietary AI models trained on over one million dermatology cases across 1,600 conditions.

Prior to Nolla Health, Luis co-founded Salveo Vascular, served as a Technology Transfer Officer at Alandra Medical, and directed the D-Health Barcelona Fellowship at Biocat, BioRegion of Catalonia, building deep expertise across medical device development, healthcare entrepreneurship, and bioengineering innovation.

Within six months of launching in Norway in late 2024, Nolla Health amassed over 55,000 patients, flagged thousands of serious skin conditions, and reduced clinician time per patient by a factor of 10, before raising a $4.5M seed round led by General Catalyst and expanding to 40+ U.S. states.
