Max Friefeld

Max Friefeld is Co-Founder and COO of Ultra, a Brooklyn-based robotics company building practical, general-purpose robots for repetitive industrial tasks.
Max studied Computer and Electrical Engineering at Harvey Mudd College ('13), then served as a Product Manager at MakerBot before co-founding two YC-backed companies, Layer By Layer (S13) and Voodoo Manufacturing (W17).
A FIRST Robotics alumnus and Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in Manufacturing and Industry, Max brings a deep engineering mindset and serial entrepreneurship to every venture he builds.
Immediately prior to Ultra, Max led teams at Boston Consulting Group optimizing operations for the world's largest logistics networks and developing go-to-market strategy for private equity-backed robotics companies.
Ultra has raised $62M in total funding including a $50M Series A led by Framework Ventures, with robots already deployed in warehouses across New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and Austin generating live revenue.
