Michael Hofman

Professor Michael Hofman is Co-Founder of Skopos Bio and a Nuclear Medicine Physician-Scientist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia, where he directs the Prostate Cancer Theranostics and Imaging Centre of Excellence (ProsTIC).
Hofman completed a fellowship at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London before joining Peter Mac in 2009, building over 16 years of clinical and research expertise in theranostics, PET imaging, and radioligand therapy.
Hofman has published over 350 peer-reviewed manuscripts with more than 25,000 citations and has been named Australia's top researcher in Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy and Molecular Imaging in both 2024 and 2025 by The Australian.
He spearheaded Peter Mac's landmark proPSMA clinical trial, a prostate cancer diagnostic approach that Swiss pharmaceutical giant Novartis later commercialised globally, and his work has attracted more than $65 million in active research grants.
Skopos Bio launched in 2024 with an AUD $12 million seed round backed by Andrew Forrest's Tenmile, John Wylie's Tin Alley Ventures, and Reed Jobs' Yosemite, with the capital earmarked to advance radioactive cancer therapies targeting hard-to-treat cancers into human clinical trials.
