Mogen Cheng

Mogen Cheng is Co-Founder and CPO at Mecka AI, the data and deployment layer for Physical AI that collects large-scale human movement data to train humanoid robots and autonomous systems. He is a full-stack developer and product leader whose technical depth and entrepreneurial instincts have helped position Mecka as one of the fastest-growing startups in the robotics data space.
Mogen studied Statistics at the University of Toronto and co-founded Mentum Group Inc. in 2020, a restaurant technology startup that processed over 1 million orders annually and was sold in 2023. His early passion for blockchain technology, which he explored since building a 14-GPU mining rig in high school, also shaped his product thinking.
Mogen and his co-founders identified a critical bottleneck in robotics: the absence of large-scale, real-world human action data needed to train general-purpose robots. Their unconventional thesis, training robots on egocentric human-captured data rather than teleoperation, has proven prescient as demand from humanoid robotics companies surges.
At Mecka AI, Mogen leads product across a platform that uses body sensors, custom hardware, and smartphones to capture and annotate human motion data at scale for clients including leading robotics labs and Fortune 100 companies. The company counts 1x Technologies among its early partners and has attracted backing from Sequoia, NVIDIA, Microsoft M12, Qualcomm, and Samsung.
Mecka AI surpassed a $100 million annual run rate in June 2026 and projects a $300 million run rate by year-end, with the company nearing a $500 million valuation in a new Sequoia-led round following its $60 million Series B.
