Oliver Ortlieb

Oliver Ortlieb is Co-Founder and CTO at Ultra, a Brooklyn-based warehouse robotics company building practical, general-purpose robots that automate repetitive fulfillment tasks for e-commerce operators under a robots-as-a-service model.
Oliver earned his BS in Computer Science from Harvey Mudd College and previously served as Product Engineer at Y Combinator, where he deepened his expertise in scaling technology ventures.
Oliver holds multiple patents in the field of 3D printing and brings a rare combination of deep software engineering skills and real-world manufacturing systems experience to industrial robotics.
Before Ultra, Oliver co-founded Voodoo Manufacturing (YC W17) as CTO, where he built the software and systems powering one of the largest 3D printing factories in the world, and earlier co-founded Layer By Layer (YC S13), a marketplace for 3D-printable products later acquired by MakerBot.
Ultra has raised $62M in total funding, including a $50M Series A led by Framework Ventures, and has deployed robots across warehouses in New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and Austin, with its OP1 robot having packed over 500,000 orders.
