Olivier Pomel

Olivier Pomel is Co-Founder and CEO at Datadog, a leading cloud-based monitoring and analytics platform for modern applications. He co-founded the company in 2010 with Alexis Le-Quoc, his longtime colleague from Wireless Generation.
Olivier holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Ecole Centrale Paris and is an original author of the VLC media player. Prior to Datadog, he served as VP of Technology at Wireless Generation, where he grew the engineering team from a handful to nearly 100 engineers before its acquisition by News Corp, and held software engineering roles at IBM Research and several internet startups.
Olivier is known for his customer-centric leadership approach, emphasizing listening to customers and solving real problems rather than focusing on competition. He spent the first six months of Datadog without writing code, instead obsessively listening to customers to understand their needs.
Under Olivier's leadership, Datadog went public on Nasdaq in September 2019 at a valuation of $8.7 billion, raising $648 million in its IPO. The company has grown from $360 million in revenue in 2019 to over $3.4 billion in 2025, serving thousands of customers including Netflix, Airbnb, Spotify, and Fortune 500 companies.
Datadog has become one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies, achieving a market capitalization exceeding $45 billion and maintaining a customer retention rate of over 150%. The platform has revolutionized cloud observability, helping companies monitor and optimize their entire technology infrastructure in real-time.
