Renato Circi

Renato Circi is Co-Founder and Co-CEO of SAVA, a London-based medtech company building a painless, multi-molecule biosensing wearable that reads biomarkers just beneath the skin.
Renato earned a Master of Engineering in Bioengineering from Imperial College London and did business development at The Ortus Club. He then co-founded Caura, a portable device for instant saliva hormone testing, and was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list for Science and Healthcare.
Renato and his co-founder Rafaël Michali first immersed themselves in biosensors in Imperial College labs. SAVA manufactures in-house and controls every layer from chemistry to algorithms so it can iterate quickly on performance.
SAVA emerged from stealth with an $8M seed led by Balderton Capital and Exor Ventures. It then raised a $19M Series A and, in October 2026, a $36M Series B led by Ascensia Diabetes Care, bringing total funding to $68M.
SAVA's first clinical data showed up to 10 days of accurate, real-time glucose monitoring in people with diabetes, a world-first in microsensing. The team has grown past 60 people, and Ascensia now holds exclusive European commercialization and distribution rights.
