Roman Schumacher is Co-Founder of Personio, the Munich-based HR platform, and Co-Founder of Studio Sonntag, which designs lovable interior objects.

Roman earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mediainformatics from LMU Munich, plus an Honours Degree in Technology Management from CDTM. He previously co-founded Feedbackme, did frontend development at Westwing Home & Living, and freelanced in web development.

When Personio was founded, the team committed to setting aside 1% of the company's equity for good causes. That commitment led Roman to co-found the Personio Foundation in 2021 and to join Founders Pledge.

Roman was the hands-on product, design and frontend person in the early years, then built Product, Design and Engineering past 600 people. After handing the CPO role to Maria Angelidou-Smith, he moved into a role supporting product positioning and architecture initiatives, alongside a seat on Personio's advisory board.

By June 2024, Personio had around 12,000 customers across 70 countries and approximately 2,000 employees. In June 2022 it raised a $200 million Series E at an $8.5 billion valuation.
