Ryan Hu

Ryan Hu is the Founder and CEO of Qlo, an AI platform built for commercial insurance carriers and program administrators. He combines machine learning expertise with a pragmatic focus on regulatory compliance and actuarial best practices.
Ryan moved from Taiwan to build in the U.S. after studying Electrical Engineering at National Taiwan University, which he left before graduating. He bootstrapped a B2B product studio to $500K ARR and spent 2.5 years building a commercial insurance marketplace that received acquisition terms from a public insurer.
Ryan saw carrier-side systems up close while running his marketplace, and two founders who were customers there now advise Qlo. He believes AI-native program administrators will emerge, each operating multiple lines of business as a one-person MGA.
Qlo was founded in 2025 with co-founder Liv Huang and is part of Y Combinator's Summer 2026 batch. The company is backed by Y Combinator, InsurTech NY and Addin Ventures.
Qlo automates complex actuarial work, compressing quoting cycles that traditionally take 3 to 5 hours down to under 10 seconds. Customers are now preparing to bring their next programs onto the platform with two-week onboarding.
