Tanishq Mathew Abraham

Tanishq Mathew Abraham, Ph.D., is the Co-Founder and CEO of Sophont, a Sacramento-based medical AI startup building open multimodal foundation models to transform healthcare by reasoning across pathology slides, brain scans, clinical notes, and lab results.
A child prodigy who graduated high school at 10, Tanishq earned his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from UC Davis at just 19, becoming the youngest in the field, before going on to serve as Research Director at Stability AI.
Tanishq previously founded MedARC, the world's largest open-source medical AI research community, and has delivered a TEDx talk, reflecting his long-standing commitment to democratizing AI in medicine.
At 21, Tanishq co-founded Sophont alongside neuroscientist Paul Scotti, channeling seven years of AI research and leadership experience into building what he envisions as the DeepSeek for medical AI.
Sophont raised a $9.22M seed round led by Kindred Ventures, with participation from Google DeepMind scientists Jeff Dean and Logan Kilpatrick, and has already launched Holon-S1, a research model predicting spatial gene activity from routine pathology slides.
