Tej Patel

Tej Patel is Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Archangel Health, which builds physician-graded clinical data infrastructure for medical AI. The company is backed by Y Combinator (F26 batch).
Tej studied at UC Berkeley and previously worked at SimCare AI, Cedars-Sinai and Cleveland Clinic. He was building healthcare software before teaming up with co-founder Aryaa Bhatia, who was supplying robotics data.
Tej is a Truman Scholar whose research in health economics and human-algorithm collaboration in clinical care shapes Archangel's direction. He has also co-authored research applying machine learning to symptom prediction in patient care.
Archangel Health raised $125K and is part of Y Combinator's Fall 2026 batch. The company sources, de-identifies and IP-clears clinical data to license to AI developers.
Archangel works with a network of credentialed physicians and offers over 20 distinct clinical data products. Frontier labs and medical AI companies already use its RL environments, training data and benchmarks, and it is moving toward post-training open-source models for health systems.
