William Zhang

William Zhang is Co-Founder of Zeroset, an applied AI lab based in San Francisco building Nebula, a state layer that gives enterprise AI agents persistent memory of company workflows and operational history.
William left the University of Texas at Austin in 2025 to co-found Zeroset, having previously built deep expertise in AI systems through hands-on engineering roles at Fynopsis and Amazon.
William's path to Zeroset was shaped by his work on document-intelligence software and pharmacy-transcription agents, giving him firsthand insight into the gap between generic AI models and real enterprise context.
Alongside co-founder Akshat Kannan, William is building Nebula to track how work evolves across enterprise software, targeting long-running agents in manufacturing, supply chain, and financial research.
Zeroset emerged from stealth with a $5.2M pre-seed round co-led by Gradient and 2048 Ventures, with the product in closed research preview and plans to expand into early enterprise deployments.
