Yarne De Munck

Yarne De Munck is Co-Founder and CEO of Polysense, a Belgian AI company transforming food manufacturing through real-time quality control and automated process optimization.
Yarne met his co-founders Lucas Van Dijck and Jarne Bogaert as engineering students at Ghent University, where the trio built an autonomous race car together for the university's Formula Student team before pivoting to food tech.
Yarne champions the mission of helping food producers work more efficiently, sustainably, and profitably by tackling raw material variability that drives waste across global production lines.
Under his leadership, Polysense has raised $12.9M in total funding across two rounds, including a $10.7M seed round led by Felix Capital in July 2026, and expanded deployments to Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.
Polysense has grown from a student project to a 30-person team serving major food manufacturers such as Agristo, Poppies Bakeries, and Darta, with one client reducing peeling time by 45% through AI-driven automation.
