Yassine Guennoun

Yassine Guennoun is Co-Founder and CTO at Ryhla, a Y Combinator backed startup that builds distribution grid models to help energy developers connect projects to the power grid faster.
Yassine grew up in Morocco and studied at École Polytechnique and Stanford, earning two master's degrees in electrical and computational engineering. His background spans applied mathematics, data science and power grid optimization research.
Yassine and co-founder Sara El Baghdadi have been best friends since middle school in Morocco, a country betting big on solar. They both researched power grid modeling at Stanford before starting Ryhla.
Ryhla is part of Y Combinator's Fall 2026 batch and is based in San Francisco. The team first deployed its models with utilities, gaining a deep understanding of how interconnection works in practice, and now brings that to developers.
Ryhla models each feeder on the distribution and subtransmission grid so developers can choose sites and size 1 to 50 MW projects before filing. Its coverage spans utilities such as ComEd, PG&E, SCE, Oncor, Dominion Energy and Georgia Power.
