Saccade is an early-stage medtech startup building a hardware attachment for the Apple Vision Pro that transforms it into a non-invasive Alzheimer's screening device. The device uses near-infrared cameras, custom PCBs, and a VR-based diagnostic task to capture and analyze saccadic eye movements, which research shows can reveal neurological disease up to 15 years before cognitive symptoms appear. Saccade's computer vision pipeline and ML model classify patient eye movements against clinical Alzheimer's baselines, offering a fast, affordable alternative to MRI-based diagnosis.
